Featured Family Story – Lynn

When Lynn Russell first contacted Aging Care Matters, her family was overwhelmed trying to navigate the realities of caring for an aging loved one whose needs were becoming increasingly difficult to manage alone. Like many families, they found themselves balancing medical concerns, safety worries, emotional stress, and the exhausting uncertainty of not knowing what to do next.

At first, the family tried to manage everything themselves. They coordinated appointments, monitored medications, responded to crises, and attempted to hold together work, family responsibilities, and caregiving all at once. But over time, the situation became more emotionally and physically draining, and they realized they needed experienced guidance and support.

That is when Aging Care Matters stepped in.

Our team helped assess the situation, coordinate care, guide difficult conversations, connect the family with appropriate resources, and provide ongoing oversight and advocacy during a very stressful season of life. Through care management support and relationship-centered guidance, the family was able to move from constant crisis response toward a more stable and sustainable plan.

I honestly do not know what we would have done without Aging Care Matters.

Lynn shared that one of the greatest gifts was no longer feeling alone in the process. Instead of constantly wondering if they were making the wrong decisions or missing something important, the family had experienced professionals helping them navigate each next step with clarity and compassion.

They helped us through one of the hardest times our family has ever faced.

Health Conditions We Support

Many times, aging parents need special support because of unique health concerns. We help families through structured supervision, education, respite, and engaging activities as needs change over time. Our team offers care coordination and compassionate assistance as individuals adjust to new physical and cognitive challenges, and we create meaningful social connections and community to help combat isolation and loneliness.

Whatever your family is navigating, we’re here to provide the guidance, structure, and support your needs.

A Note From Carla, Our Owner and Founder

My path to starting ACM was deeply personal: while serving as a long-distance caregiver during my own father’s decline, I experienced the fear and helplessness many families face, and after his death in 2007, I discovered care management and resolved to become the support she wished her family had had.

That personal history lives on in the ACM logo, whose circular design – inspired by the washers her father collected – represents the full circle of life and the many “care matters” of aging, while its dove recalls the white bird that appeared at my mother’s window a year after his passing, becoming a lasting symbol of peace, love, and presence.
